Elf on the Shelf.... Ollie B.

We have decided to buy our family an "Elf on the Shelf"!

He has been named Ollie B.  

He joined us on November 30th with a sweet little letter, new of excitement to come, and that creepy little face everyone has grown to love and be obsessed with.

Elf Ollie arrives each morning with an Advent Devotional card in some fun, silly, goofy, or crazy way.  He often leave communication to the kids and has even went on strike due to behavior.

Day 1: He arrived with a North Pole Breakfast fit for our family.  Chocolate & Powdered Sugar covered donuts, blue tinted milk, play-dough, spyglasses for all, and his sweet little intro letter for his special ops mission. (More on that "Special Ops Mission" later)

Day 2: He rode through our living room with Jesse from Toy Story while chasing and roping a little snowman.

Day 3: He was caught in a large pickle jar with the snowman sitting on top.  His note said help me inside the jar and snowman jokes were everywhere.  (Guess the snowman didn't want those jokes getting out?)

Days 4&5: He went on strike due to horrible behavior! Countdown calendar was gone and he was sitting with crossed arms and legs.

Day 6: He arrived back from strike with a letter letting the kiddos know how happy he was at their quick change in attitude and much better behavior.  He left them a little game to play after church because there was such an improvement!

Tomorrow is Day 7 and I don't have a plan.  I'll figure it out before bed because I'm not going to become obsessed.

So... one week into this Elf thing and it's been fun.  We are reading the stories of Jesus together each night and putting emphasis on what Christmas truly is.  Celebration of our Savior, Jesus, being born on Earth as a man.  The life He lived while here and the sacrifice made!!

I am very excited to see what the rest of this month holds for our family.  There is a lot of fun to be had, fellowship opportunities, and many ways that we can share Christ.
